Day 1
Boat departure at 9:00 a.m. towards the multiethnic community of Puerto Triunfo, followed by a 4 km nature trail leading to the Tupana Aru Ü Nature Reserve, located in the heart of the jungle. Here, we will encounter a breathtaking landscape surrounded by towering trees and the intense sounds of pure, primary forest. After enjoying lunch and a short rest, we’ll observe our conservation lake, home to the largest scaled fish species in the Amazon—the Pirarucu. You'll have the chance to feed them and learn about their unique lifestyle and reproduction methods. The natural lake is also home to various other species, including caimans and turtles that peacefully share this habitat. Continuing our visit, we’ll embark on a daytime exploration of the ecosystem, aiming to discover as many of this habitat’s species as possible, including reptiles, insects (such as tarantulas), mammals, and towering trees, offering a full view of the local flora and fauna. Dinner will be followed by a nocturnal exploration, where we’ll activate our senses to appreciate and learn about the nighttime environment. This experience will immerse you in the mysterious sounds of nocturnal species, the aromas of plants that become active at night, sightings of bioluminescent species, and a calm, mysterious ambiance. Rest until tomorrow.
Day 2
At dawn, we enjoy the awakening of nature and the lively sounds of the birds, dedicating time for a detailed observation with binoculars that will allow us to learn even more about the species inhabiting the high jungle. This is followed by a refreshing swim in the sandy Paraná stream, lunch, and some rest. Afterward, we prepare to spend time with the local residents from the Yagua and Ticuna ethnic groups, participating in the creation of their crafts and learning about their customs and culture. End of the journey in Leticia.
